Museum of Bath Stone

In addition to the interesting history the Museum of Bath Stone showcases, there will be a "snapshot" exhibition giving a taster of what's on offer across the art trail - truly a must see. Three artists will also be in the space exhibiting their work: cosy-crime author, Rachel, will have books ready to sign as well as her paintings, Alex will have her wonderful portrait paintings, and Sally is back with her gorgeous ceramic animals!

Rachel Ward will be exhibiting her landscape paintings, capturing a sense of place, mood, and light.
​Alex Cooper was a Sky Art's Portraits Artist of the Year contestant in 2021 - and you'll see why!
​Sally Gardiner's ceramic pieces embody the characters of farm and domestic animals, perhaps none more so than her hares created in clay and coloured using slips, glazes, and oxides.

Opposite the museum, head over to Annabel's studio and see her photography, along with Mike's drawings.

​Annabel Wilmot is a photographer, capturing the environment around her.
​Mike Service paints what he sees – landscapes, clouds, the sea and boats, muddy fields, tumbledown buildings and still life. Mike is away during the trail but we're delighted to include some of his work.

Continue to walk along Combe Road towards North Road and enjoy the artwork displayed on the outside railings by the imaginative children at Combe Down Nursery!

Just up from the nursery, on the corner of Westerleigh Road and Combe Road, Ele will be showing her textural collages, alongside Sally's luminescent paintings, and Natasha's wonderful woven tapestries!

Ele Nash will be showing collages of local Combe Down architecture, as well as figures, cats, landscapes, and prints.
​Sally Jefferies enjoys painting almost any subject in almost any style, experimenting with acrylic, oil, ink and collage.
Natasha Smiljkovic creates textural woven tapestries inspired by the views around her.

On the corner of Combe Road and North Road is Calmer Rooms where you can see Hilary's gorgeous home textiles, and Karen's beautiful landscape paintings.

Hilary Strickland uses pencil drawings and delicate watercolour washes to create designs inspired by birds, plants, insects, and landscapes for her range of napkins, table runners, storage nests, cushions, and prints.
​Karen George paints in acrylic and mixed media and is best known for her semi abstract landscapes and seascapes with atmospheric skies.

See Chris' jaw-dropping fossil preparations!

Chris Selby is a fossil hunter!​ He then carefully prepares them for use as sculptural pieces either in the home or garden.

​The Jewish Burial Ground

Head west along North Road to the pink windows of the Forester and Flower, and the historic Jewish Burial Ground. Restored and open to all, the burial ground's cottage will have Robert's quirky box assemblages, and Lucy's textiles and quilting. In addition, Rosemary Simmons (see venue 9) will have her VE Day print on display.

Robert Lee begins each sculptural piece by searching for boxes, images and other found objects to put in them.
Lucy Poloniecka's breath-taking quilted wall hangings range in size from the smallest at 8 inches square to up to 60 inches tall!

Follow the small lane of Greendown Place from The Jewish Burial Ground, and you'll find Pollyanna's beautiful studio!

Pollyanna Charnley is a life coach whose artwork is designed to enhance positivity and optimism.

Next to Rosemary's home is a studio where three artists will be exhibiting their artwork: Linda's stunning mixed media, Jane's vibrant landscape paintings, and Lynda's lush paintings.

Linda O'Gorman enjoys experimenting with monoprint, working into the image further with oil pastels, pen and ink, and pencils, using the texture created.​
​​Jane Verrell creates landscapes and seascapes using acrylics, particularly focusing on skies, sunsets, trees, mountains and water.
Lynda Elvin is a painter and member of the Bathampton Art Group who regularly meet to share art techniques and creative practices.

See Martin's atmospheric photogravure limited edition etchings in his studio on Entry Hill Park.

Martin Martin explores visual narrative using photogravure, a printmaking process using a photographic image. This intricate process creates a sensitive image with high tonal range on paper.

In the windows of The Hub, see artwork displayed by the amazing children at Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary, and Happy Days Nursery.

Additionally, three artists will be exhibiting their artwork in the café area of the Hub. Why not grab a coffee while you browse?

Richard Ward is a graphic designer, recently designing the leaflets for our very own Museum of Bath Stone! He also paints, mostly landscapes.
Tilda Rae's acrylic and ink canvases are inspired by the complexity of nature.
Wenda Bartlett is a printmaker interested in nature using a variety of techniques, including etching, lino cut, wood engraving, woodcut and collagraph.

In the Mulberry Park development, towards the old Pope's Walk footpath, you'll find traditional and beautiful Chinese brushwork.

Pak Ieong creates exemplary Chinese brush paintings ​of landscapes, flowers, and birds.

Walking along North Road towards The Firs, Richard is opening his lovely home to showcase his photography work.

Richard Ford has a keen interest in photography, working principally in black and white. ​He is drawn to a wide range of subjects, from architecture and landscapes to animals, wildlife and flowers.

Continuing down North Road to Farrs Lane, father and son Alistair and Luke have their own distinct styles.

Alistair Teale uses charcoal and pencil to create sensitive depictions of the natural landscape.
Luke Teale is a recent graduate of the Camberwell College of Arts and works in oil, watercolour, print, as well as with found objects,

Cross the road and head down The Firs to Vikki's home where she'll be showing her mix of gothic-inspired work.

Vikki Yeates creates imaginative illustrations of animals and their environment using oil pastel and lino ink. She also creates books and makes jewellery.

On Tyning Road, in a run of terraced cottages, is Olga's pretty home. Olga runs the Bath Sculpture School and we're delighted her talented students will be showing their work alongside her own!

Access John's beautiful studio off the drung path that runs from Church Road to the Avenue, or from Tyning Road - take the left turn if coming from Church Road into Alexandra Place and John's is on the left.

The Peggy Dodd Centre will be showing a variety of creative artwork by the talented children of Combe Down Primary, as well as offering light lunches, tea, coffee and cake, served in the beautiful garden.

In addition, four artists will be showing their artwork here: Penny's mixed media paintings, Shula's needle-felting scene, and Tamsin's paintings and jewellery.​

Penny Richards uses acrylic and inks to paint in washes of thin translucent colour, often on a pre-textured surface. She depicts diverse, evocative subjects from zany figures in motion to quiet landscapes.
​​Shula Newick makes vignettes of the British Landscape, including the Midford Valley, using the needle felting technique.
​Tamsin Barnes is a painter and photographer. She also takes vintage and unusual finds and "awakens" them into unique pieces of jewellery.

Freshfields, Beechwood Road

Either access from Shepherd's Walk or follow Beechwood Road to the very end and you'll find Freshfields on the righthand side with its own lovely studio full of Kathy's craft and paintings. You'll also discover Sarah's beautiful  stoneware, Imogen's sophisticated jewellery, and Awena's lovely ceramics.

Kathy Pearce paints in acrylics, recording memories of favourite coastal scenes using a technique that's evolved from the piecing together of fabrics.
​Imogen Batterham creates simple silver necklaces, earrings, and stacking rings. Profits from her sales at the art trail will be split between the Peggy Dodd Centre, and Dorothy House.
Awena Lewis is a young potter and extremely talented!
Sarah Turrell creates finely thrown stoneware pots, from plates and bowls to vases and teapots, all light, strong and durable, dishwasher- and oven-safe.
