Continue to walk along Combe Road towards North Road and enjoy the artwork displayed on the outside railings by the imaginative children at Combe Down Nursery!

Fairstone, 33a Westerleigh Road

Just up from the nursery, on the corner of Westerleigh Road and Combe Road, Ele will be showing her textural collages, alongside Sally's luminescent paintings, and Natasha's wonderful woven tapestries!

Ele Nash will be showing collages of local Combe Down architecture, as well as figures, cats, landscapes, and prints.
​Sally Jefferies enjoys painting almost any subject in almost any style, experimenting with acrylic, oil, ink and collage.
Hilary Strickland uses pencil drawings and delicate watercolour washes to create designs inspired by birds, plants, insects, and landscapes for her range of napkins, table runners, storage nests, cushions, and prints.
Bridget Baker makes wire animals from galvanized wire which is then painted with enamel paints. She enjoys making them as realistic as possible, capturing their characters with the minimum of lines. Bridget has a large repertoire of wire animals, from birds and dogs to giraffes and deer.
Katy Spencer works in a variety of media sensitively depicting the natural world.

On the corner of Combe Road and North Road is Calmer Rooms where you can see Sally's gorgeous hares, and Karen's beautiful landscape paintings.

​Karen George paints in acrylic and mixed media and is best known for her semi abstract landscapes and seascapes with atmospheric skies.
​​Sally Gardiner's ceramic pieces embody the characters of farm and domestic animals, perhaps none more so than her hares created in clay and coloured using slips, glazes, and oxides.

​The Jewish Burial Ground

At the entrance to Greendown Place opposite Forester and Flower, the historic Jewish Burial Ground has been restored and welcomes everyone to view the grounds on their Open Day on Sunday. The burial ground's cottage will be open on both Saturday ad Sunday to see Lucy's artwork.

Lucy Poloniecka's breath-taking quilted wall hangings range in size from the smallest at 8 inches square to up to 60 inches tall!

Follow the small lane of Greendown Place from The Jewish Burial Ground, and you'll find Pollyanna's beautiful studio!

Pollyanna Charnley is a life coach whose artwork is designed to enhance positivity and optimism.
​Rosemary Simmons will have her book available for you to buy: The Robertine and the rewilding of Combe Down - or the Great Swapperoo.

A little further along on the left from Pollyanna's, is a studio where three artists will be exhibiting their artwork:

Linda O'Gorman enjoys experimenting with monoprint, working into the image further with oil pastels, pen and ink, and pencils, using the texture created.​
​​Shula Newick makes vignettes of the British Landscape, including the Midford Valley, using the needle felting technique.​

Feel like you're taking a diversion to the seaside with a lively mix of ceramic work by Esther, Jo, and Emma in Esther's stunning garden venue at the end of Porlock Road.

Esther Norman uses hand building techniques and Raku firing process to create individual maritime ceramics.
Joanna Bowden creates wheel thrown, domestic and decorative stoneware ceramics. Fired in electric and woodfired kilns, her pieces are characterful as well as practical.
Emma Mallon is new to the Combe Down Art Trail and will be ​showing her beautiful patterned ceramics.

Sarah Sidders will be showing her mixed media landscapes at 9 Naish Road on Mulberry Park.

Sarah Sidders uses ink to depict the main themes of her work: species decline and global warming.

If on foot, head out of Mulberry Park and cross the drung, Pope's Walk, to reach Priory Close where you'll find three inventive mixed media and multi-disciplinary artists.

Penny Richards uses acrylic and inks to paint in washes of thin translucent colour, often on a pre-textured surface. She depicts diverse, evocative subjects from zany figures in motion to quiet landscapes.
Annie Stonebridge makes slot together wooden companion animals, from jungle lions and gorillas to woodland squirrels and bears.​ She also paints!
​Sue Willis is a self taught artist specialising in pen and ink drawings, silk painting and recycled jewellery. She uses patterns found in nature as her inspiration and favours mandala based designs.

Turning back to North Road, Farrs Lane is home to father and son Alistair and Luke with their own distinct styles.

Walking along North Road towards The Firs, Richard is opening his lovely home to showcase his photography work.

Richard Ford has a keen interest in photography, working principally in black and white. ​He is drawn to a wide range of subjects, from architecture and landscapes to animals, wildlife and flowers.

Cross the road and head down The Firs to Vikki's home where she'll be showing her mix of gothic-inspired work.

Vikki Yeates creates imaginative illustrations of animals and their environment using oil pastel and lino ink. She also creates books and makes jewellery.

This venue is home to Kat and David who will have on show a variety of drawings, paintings, ceramics, and small sculptures - a wealth of talent!

David Wood is a multi-disciplinary artist, creating imaginative and sometimes surreal drawings and sculptures.

Katarina Wood is new to the art trail this year and we're delighted she is showing her paintings, full of warmth and home comforts, linocuts, and ceramics.

Jill Woodhead may be familiar to some of you who have been coming to our art trail for a few year's but having hung up her jewellery-making tools, we're absolutely delighted she's back showing her lovely pottery!
Linda Barrow creates interesting effects by transforming objects and materials into print. Her work is strongly influenced by nature. Linda’s work includes lino-cut prints, etchings, collage prints and recently cyanotypes, a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print.

Freshfields, Beechwood Road

Either access from Shepherd's Walk or follow Beechwood Road to the very end and you'll find Freshfields on the righthand side with its own lovely studio full of Kathy's craft and paintings. You'll also discover Sarah's beautiful  stoneware, Imogen's sophisticated jewellery.

Kathy Pearce paints in acrylics, recording memories of favourite coastal scenes using a technique that's evolved from the piecing together of fabrics.
​Imogen Batterham creates simple silver necklaces, earrings, and stacking rings. Profits from her sales at the art trail will be split between the Peggy Dodd Centre, and Dorothy House.
Sarah Turrell creates finely thrown stoneware pots, from plates and bowls to vases and teapots, all light, strong and durable, dishwasher- and oven-safe.
