Saturday had been such a great day, how could Sunday compare? It was even better! The sun shone, Combe Down was bustling with visitors, lots of artwork and cards were purchased, food and drink consumed, compliments on the Trail all-round, and just a great spirit of art appreciation. As you can see from the photos taken on Sunday, it was a fantastic end to the 2018 Combe Down Art Trail! Thank you so much to everyone who came, the artists who took part and gave over their houses and workshops, to those who demonstrated their work, and to Jeni Wood, our tireless leader, and the hard-working team of Steve Wells, Ele Nash, and Vikki Yeates! We couldn't have asked for a better weekend - but I think we'll all need a year to recover!

What a fantastic first day we've had on the Trail! Perfect Trail weather, lots of visitors, lots of demonstrations and chat about art. Here are a some photos from just a few of the great venues on the Trail. And today is set to be even better so if you haven't got to see it so far, all the venues are open from 10am - 5pm. What fantastic artists we have in Combe Down! Venue 20 will be open from 2.30 - 4.30 with the brilliant Rondo Theatre Company performing rehearsals of The Lady Killers. Raku firing at Venue 1 at 12 noon is a must-see, as are the throwing demonstrations during the rest of today and tomorrow. There's chalk drawing outside Venue 19 for children as well as the Animal Art Trail. A talk on printmaking at Venue 5 is at 3pm today and a talk on watercolour at Venue 5 is at 10am tomorrow. And that's not forgetting all the many pieces of original artwork for sale. So many great things to see and do! |
