Q1. Hello, Kate! How much are you looking forward to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail?
I'm so excited to be taking part in this Art Trail. It's the first time I have done anything like this before, and so I am a bit nervous as well. It's been difficult to decide which items I am going to post, as all my ceramics are so different from each other. I make lamp-bases, bowls, sculptures etc, but they all turn out different because of the techniques that I use. Raku never turns out the same, even when you do exactly the same things, and stoneware looks different when it has sea-glass glass in the bottom.

Q2. You took part in the last Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails that you enjoy?
I love talking to people about my ceramics and showing them how I make them, if I am doing demos. This year I can't do that of course, but there are videos of me throwing and rakuing on my Facebook page. Even though I have been making and selling my ceramics for nearly 20 years, I still get a real buzz when somebody likes my work!

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
It has been hard deciding to what to exhibit, but I've decided on showing just raku, as that is my passion. I will have bowls, lamp-bases and fish on driftwood.

Q1. Hello, Hils! How much are you looking forward to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail?
I’m really looking forward to it and it’s going to be interesting to see how we can adapt to this new way of showing our work!

Q2. You took part in the last Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails that you enjoy?
I very much enjoyed the trail last year with lots of interesting visitors and the chance to meet other local artists. I found it both rewarding and inspiring.

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
I’ll be showing some of my framed miniature prints of insects and birds, along with some new textile products - and although a few of them won’t be here for the weekend, I can give a taste of what’s to follow..

Q1. Hello, Cath! How much are you looking forward to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail?
Hi, I’m Cath of Coastal Creativity. I’m very much looking forward to the Art Trail. I took part for the first time last year and I was in the Hub which was a wonderful location.

Q2. You took part in the last Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails you enjoy?
So this will be my second Combe Down Art Trail but I’ve done others. I love the calm atmosphere of arts trails. Visitors have planned their time and enjoy chatting to the artists about their work and skills. I always meet lovely folk and have Interesting conversations, it’s lovely to get positive feedback on my work and sometimes suggestions too.

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
I have some “one off” pieces to exhibit and also my shell collections which feature on my website. I have some items which were commissions and I’d be happy to discuss adapting these for others to make them unique personal pieces.

I am looking forward very much to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail. Hoping to reconnect with the visitors and customers I met last year.

Q2. You've taken part in every Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails that you enjoy?
I love meeting people, talking about different  painting techniques, and making contact with the other artists.

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
I have new paintings, limited edition prints and cards available. As well as watercolour and mixed media, I have been experimenting with acrylics. I have begun a new series of work featuring Rock Memories, places we have sailed past, and also some lockdown paintings.

Q1. Hello, Karen! How much are you looking forward to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail?
So looking forward to it – it’s a rare chance to share my work but also to see what other artists have been creating during 2020. Q2. You took part in the last Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails that you enjoy?
I love meeting people and talking about how my work is created. Having so many artists all exhibiting at the same time really creates a buzz in a community and often inspires visitors to pick up a paintbrush themselves. I always bring my sketch books for visitors to flick through as I think that they really give a window into what inspires me and how I work.

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
Well my artwork is all inspired by the natural environment – just love skies – particularly stormy ones! I’ve been doing a lot of mixed media work on paper this year so I’ll be sharing those as well as acrylic pieces that I have also been working on. I’ve got a few video clips of work in progress which I will post and may even get a video tour of my studio recorded for the event.

Its a new experience and hopefully will be successful.

Q2. You've taken part in the last three Combe Down Art Trails. What is it about art trails you enjoy?
I have been in all three art trails in Combe Down and it's been enjoyable, good to meet people and chat about my work and painting generally with interested people.

I have been working on drawings and paintings of places that I have previously visited as well as my local environment, and experimenting with various media.

Q1. Hello, Sara! How much are you looking forward to the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail?
I’m really excited to participate in this online event to share my passion for lino-cutting with our local community. This will be my first time trying to actively promote my art online, so I’m sure it will be a positive and enriching experience.

Q2. You took part in the last Combe Down Art Trail. What is it about art trails that you enjoy?
I’m actually very new to the concept of local art trails but as soon as I heard there was an annual one organised in the area where I live now I wanted to be part of it. I believe it’s very inspiring to know that there are many people around you with lots of brilliant ideas and talent to be shown and shared, therefore I really enjoyed participating in last year’s trail at the Hub. I hope to have enough creative time in the future to create new designs and participate in this art trail every year.

Q3. What do you plan on exhibiting in the Combe Down Virtual Art Trail 2020 on Saturday 12th September?
This year has been quite busy work-wise, therefore I haven’t had as much time as I would have wanted to create many new designs. For that reason I will be showing my 2019 cards, together with hand-made prints from my new 2020 lino-cut designs. I hope you like them!

​Q2. As this is the first time you've taken part in the Combe Down Art Trail, what is it you think you'll enjoy?
I’ve enjoyed visiting many of the Bath Open Studios art trails over the years and it’s always so inspiring to see such a variety of work and get the chance to meet the artists. In particular this year it will be great to make contact with other artists in the local community and see what they’ve been up to during the lockdown months.
